The so-called cotton weed plant is a small perennial that grows in the dune areas throughout the Mediterranean, It is important in stabilizing sandy soils. The plant is covered by thick white down as a means of protection against sand grains flown by the wind. The composite flower-heads are made of small tubular yellow flowers, about 2 mm in diameter.

Hello Ishi,
What an unusual looking plant you have presented to us, I don't believe I have ever seen anything quite like it. I would love to be able to touch it to see what its cotton like texture actually feels like. Excellent detail on all three photos and lovely colors. I'm really glad you took a shot of the entire plant allowing us to see it growing in its natural habitat.
