I found this bee orchid (ophrys dinsmorei)near my house. this flower look like a bee and release smell of female bee's hormone. the male bee come to the flower and try to sex with him. the flower stick on the head of the bee stamens.

Thanks for sharing your native flowers with us Rei.I've seen film of bees at these flowers.Very interesting.

Good shot! Orchids are a fascination of mine, and I always find Ophrys particularly interesting. In this case the most interesting thing is that although the common name is the same (Bee Orchid) it actually describes a different species here in the UK (Ophrys apifera) - which I'll no doubt post a picture of in due course... Technically quite good, although I find the brown twig a little distracting, and I'd have probably chosen slightly more DOF myself since the closest floret isn't quite sharp. Anyway nicely captured :-D
