Jungle cat (Felis chaus)This is a large,
long-legged cat (12 kg) with a madium long tail. in Israel it occurs in thickets, mainly near water, mostly along the Coastal Plain and the Jordan Valley and in oases along the Dead Sea.Their populations are vary common by fish ponds.This species are often seen in pairs with young.It feeds on fish, rodents and birds, but also on snakes.

Yes! Eyal this is cat I wanted. Felis chaus is also known as the swamp cat. He has a lot of similarities with F. Lybica. My book says the only way to be certain is the size of this larger cat.

This cat is severely endangered in it's limited African range.

It's a very nice shot of it next to the water. The light also just catching him right. Well done.

Nice composition. The tufts on the ends of the ears is nice. I also like the light on the side of the head.
