[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Nature in Jordan:
I visited Wadi Rom (here with Jebel al Qattar) by bicycle but I had to abandon it at the entrance, and hike and walk. Wadi Rom lies at the border to Saudi Arabia and leads directly into the giant Nafud desert. 12’000 year-old and younger Rock carvings witness a continuous presence of nomadic people and of a steppic vegetation with Oistrichs. Moses may have wandered in Wadi Rom and the Nafud desert with his flock.

The geology of the site makes me, non-geologist, gasp: the mountains are Precambrian, a geologic era before the appearance of the oldest known multicellular fossils on earth, i.e. older than 540 million years. You notice the dark basaltic-granitic base of the mountain on which are layers of purple “Um Sahn” sandstone. On top of the mountains to the right (Jebel Um Ishrin) you see a younger “White Rom” sandstone layer. In front some shales are visible, accretions of fine silt, they may contain some cellular fossils.

The force that shaped the wide Wadi Rom is wind, the fine sand fingers behind each herb and stone point to it. But winter rain water may occasionally flatten the sandy plains and fill some cracks in the rocks.

Some where that not much people visited and unexplored, Wadi stands for valley and that is Rome and how come Rome here it is a history as the Wahabies of Saudi Arabia not allow visitor so it kept abundant, nice catch.

Informative NOTE. Beautiful landscape. I like its colour. Well exposure and even shadow area details look good. I like the way you framed it giving more importance in the foreground than sky.
