Of course now so many TN members could say this is an awesome macro or bad. It is not important for me now!
I am pretty sure it is the 1st post of a species on TN!
But i do not like to share its name -(it is not a P. laevis)-and i do not want to write a detailed note on it!
Just a photo!

Why? why i behave in such way?

Although i am very bussy with my academic responsibilities are very intensive these days, yesterday night i've uploaded a female Syrian lizard as an another 1st on TN, ataching a WS too (SEE ATTACHMENTS).

When i wake up this morning i saw only one comment/critique made by Asbed althought i noticed that it has been observed approx 44 persons. of course i deleted it. Sorry for this Asbed...

By the way, i also wish some peoples who do not like me or my photos anymore please delete me from their favorite photographers.

TFL and have a nice time!

UPDATE (August 12th, 2010):

Phoenicolacerta kulzeri ssp. kulzeri (Kulzer's Rock Lizard) [in Turk. Kulzerin Kaya Kertenkelesi]

Kulzer's Rock Lizard is distributed in Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Jordan tending to form isolated populations in suitable habitats. This species was long time considered a subspecies of P. laevis (Syrian Lizard). At present it is considered a separate species with two subspecies: the nominotypic and P. kulzeri petraea (Petra Lizard, in Turk. Petra Kertenkelesi) endemic to Jordan (Western).

Kulzer's Rock Lizardis a small lizard with relatively short head and pointed snout. Tyically, the massetericum –large scale on temporal region- is small to indistinct (it is typically enlarged in P. laevis). The other scallation features are as follows: 50-59 unkeeled dorsals around the body, ventrals in 6 longitudinal and 24-31 transversal rows, 4-7 preanal shields, 22-27 gulars, 8-10 collars, 28-32 subdigital lamellae under the 4th toe, 11-15 supraciliar granules, 5 sublabials. There are 17-22 femoral pores. The ground colour is pale olive-grey to brownish, sometimes slightly reddish. The dorsal pattern is relatively weak, consisting of two more or less distinct dark longitudinal lateral stripes (reaching to the tail base, where it disrupts to build a series of irregular spots) and scattered dark small blotches. The flanks possess usually a slightly darker reticular pattern. The belly is mostly uniform, lighter than the dorsum. Juveniles possess brightly bluish tails. It reaches a SVL (Snout-Vent length) of up to 61.5 mm in males and 64.4 mm in females. The tail length is about twice SVL.

Kulzer's Rock Lizard is a diurnal, typically rock dwelling lizard, living on sun-exposed sandstone or limestone outcrops with crevices and scattered vegetation. It is active mainly during the late morning hours, when it basks or searches for insects in crevices or bushes. If pursued, it rapidly climbs to higher parts of cliffs and/or hides in crevices. The males are territorial, mainly in breeding season, when they defend their territory against other, conspecific males. During the coolest months, it hibernates; the actual length of the winter pause depends on locality and weather. Breeding season starts in March/April. Females lay more clutches per year (up to six), each consisting of 3-5 whitish elongated eggs.

Hello MF Bayram.
Very good note! I give you for these posts my points gladly however must to it say also the person Bayram am important to me.
This is a very nice portrait of a cute creature. I like this composition, low POV, details, exposure and DOF you used. This is very well done!Best regards Siggi

Hi Bayram,

Sorry to hear about your post last night, I was away so didnt get a chance to see it :(. However, today you have a lovely portrait of this lizard. The detail and DOF as always is spot on. There is a nice catchlight in the eye as well. It is nice seeng it up against a monotone green background.
Great capture MF and thanks for posting, please dont delete :)

Merhabalar hocam,

Hello Bayram,
Strange story in your note. In the evening most of the time my points are spent and I had to wait till the next day. But I didn't have seen your posting.
This is a very good and impressive detailed portrait of this lizard in beatiful natural and bright colours. Great DOF, POV, plain BG and composition.

Hocam haklısınız. Ötesi yok! kulzeri fikrine ben de katılıyorum.

Hello Bayram MF.

Not: Bence de Phenicolacerta kulzeri. Şakak plağının olmaması nedeniyle kendini ele veriyor:)

Hard to fully understand where you're coming from Bayram, but I will try.
I visit/comment forward when I have the time, and always try to return the courtesy of a critique. Simple - Easy as 1,2,3 :)
This is a technically well done closeup. I would give it just a bit more nose room if it was mine.
Thanx for the first post of this species on TN!

Szia Baratom Bayram,
Congratulations for this first time species on TN!Splendid photo with great sharpness and details, TFS, and have a nice day! Sorry for Your previosus photo!

hello Bayram

i noticed that your yesterday's post was removed (by you)
and i was wondering why, congratulations for this 1st timer
great portrait shot of a beauty, always superbly exposed, TFS

hello Bayram
Super good pose with great details and beautiful colours
nice BG and great sharpness
greeting lou

Merhaba sevgili arkadaşım,
Yes this is a beauty and like all beauties, she has her mood... Very impressive and mysterious glance, looking at you. I'm jealous of this shot... and of this lizard! It is not easy to make such shot, with perfect sharpness, composition and colours. And I know how difficult it is to approach such beauties, specially in hot weather like in Syria.
Don't worry for people visiting without commenting. TN is well referenced in google and they are many "tourists" too on this site. You know who are your friends and be sure that you have many. You are completely right to not commenting as paybacks. Be sincere and yourself, dear! I'm curious who is this beauty and I found the name... You can guess how... :) Take care,

Merhaba Bayram dostum,
I didn't view your last post as I was not active yesterday.
But this is a superb macro close-up of a species of lizard unknown to me but others have stated it to be Phoenicolacerta kulzeri, which sounds good to me.
The details and colours are great, but I would agree with Howard about a little more space in front of the nose. Thanks and have a good evening dostum!

Yeniceri is basinda:)) anladin sen onu.. ellerine saglik dayi. selamlar. KiB!

Hi little bro,

another very good picture from a lizard.
I have not been seen this deleted pic.
Why are this not a good close up or macro?
I found this a first class close up with good details, sharpness and pv with fine naturaal colours.
And ofcourse always nice to be the first and i think ypou have even as i am much new ones on TN.

Hello bayram
He strikes the pose he would like to make the siesta, but stays on the watch...

Hello Bayram,
You shouln't get upset, a lot of people are on holidays or not always at home. We shouldn't care how many points, just post what we think is important, especially if, like you, the photographer is a specialist! Anyway we and you know that your pictures are intersting! This one is an excellent portrait of a lizard with a somehow interrogative attitude. And don't forget there are many people on TN and from outside who are interested in your notes!!
Kind regards
Mother :-)

Hi Bayram

A beautiful portrait of this great looking reptile. Excellent sharpness and composition. Glad you had a great time on recent field trip. Hope your academic tasks are not too demanding.

Merhaba MF Prof Bayram,
such a stunning details. You have featured it wonderfully.
The skin, the eyes and the head is superb i good view. The green backgrond is wonderful.
Excellent work.
Asfor the strange thing happen to your shot, it really perplex me. Why such things happen. How the captured lizard and the notes are very importnt and useful as a layman and also as a learner.
Honestly I learn a lot from you...that is why all your shots are precious to me. I would say I never missed any yet.
Excellent work again may God bless you with these exciting imges.

Bayram bana hep kertenkelecikler ayni gorunurdu..Senin fotograflerin sayesinde ne kadar cok cesit oldugunu verdigin bilgiler sayesinde de ogrenmis oluyorum..En ince detaya kadar mukemmel bir sunus sergiliyorsun..Tebrik ederim seni...Sevgiler selamlar hepimizden....
Not..Hakikaten guzel bir kare ismi bana lazim degil...Ogrencilerin dusunsun... .

Hi Bayram,
Kulzer's rock lizard, never heard of ... Thanks to you we are introduced to a whole world of reptiles known before only to a small scientific community. In the case of Kulzer I vote of course for "awesome", not for "bad" :-)

Bayram, if almost nobody wants to comment on a picture, why care? Pictures on TN will be searchable by Google and other searching machines for years if you don't delete them. I am personally still mourning the loss of many of your former pictures, they had become a precious source of information. I still get queries for my pictures I posted on TN in 2007 and thousands of people have looked at some of the old pics. You are one of the key personalities on TN, everybody appreciates your work. And you yourself know the real value of every single shot, you don't really depend on comments by others. Hugh, I have spoken :-)
I wish you many happy encounters with reptiles and TN- commentators!
My best regards to you

Dear Bayram!

You are very important to TN, and you are one of the members that get the most feedbacks in the form of points, critiques and comments. From my point of view, you should not feel personally attacked if once the feedbacks are not as many as you had expected. And not all the visitors have the same interest: some are more interested in the photographical aspect, some more in the scientific one. And we should not forget that some drop in as pure spectators. From my point of view it's also not a question of payback. My courtesy and my respect for a person that has shown interest for one of my pictures obliges me to write a critique about one of his pictures. That's the way I see and handle it...

Now, about this picture, I would like to tell you that I find it superb. It's the perfect protrait of a lizard, technically very well done and just pleasant to look at.

Kind regards

This is such a fine mugshot of the lizard MF Bayram. The close framing is fabulous and details are first class in the frame.
Very good work with the lens and details. Fine image and have a wonderful weekend.
Kind regards - Jusni
