Turkish Name: Mavi Sevbeni Kelebeği

Distribution in Turkey: Eastern Anatolia

Distribution in the world: Turkey and Middle East.

Living Area: Altitude: Usually above 1700 metres. Dry or damp bushy places.

Flight time: Early-July – early August.

Food Plants of the caterpillar: Caterpillars, Rosaceous shrubs-(Rosaceae) plants are fed up with.

Description-Notes: Typical locality, Turkey and the Middle East is a species unique to the north. Rare and elusive butterfly. A unique hairstreak with pale blue-gray undersides; on fresh individuals, an indistinct white postmedian line on both wings and a few pale orange spots near hindwing anal angle may be visible.

Wingspan: 28-34 mm long.

Similar Species:
• Gray Hairstreak - Strymon melinus,(Hübner (1818)

A wonderful shot of this pretty little Rebel's Hairstreak. Tac sharp focus showing exceptional detail and beautiful color. I like it's black and white antenna with their pretty orange tips. Nice clean BG with just the right exposure. Great notes. Well done!!
