Hello my friends,
sorry for my silence. I have been far away from TN and you for about two months. In this period, I have visited many places in all corner of Turkiye. I drived more than 10.000 km.
My trips still go on in Sakarya-Bolu prov., NW Anatolia

Today's post from Van Prov. located in TR-Iran border, exactly one month ago.
Mustafa (spalaxtr) and me visited Van Lake, which is the biggest lake in Turkiye in last July. There were many birds in marslands near Muradiye town. One of these is Tringa totanus – Kızılbacak [TR], Redshank [EN]. Probably it nested in this area.
Seven of 29 species of the family SCOLOPACIDAE of the order CHARADRIIFORMES in Turkiye belong to the genus Tringa and one of the most common species of this bird is T. totanus, a common wader.
The species can be identified easily by its red (reddish) bill and legs. It show white up the back and on the wings in flight. It is a migratory species, wintering Marmara, Ege, Akdeniz (Turkish Mediterranean), Western and Central Karadeniz (Black Sea) regions. It is seen in breeding period in Eastern Anatolia, but it is resident species in most parts of Central Anatolia.
Formerly I uploaded this bird on ground from Gediz Delta “İzmir Bird Paradisea”, which one of the most characteristic wintering birds in there (see photo). This time, I post it in flight. I hope you will like it.

Dedication for Ümit MALKOÇOĞLU (Tirvana), who is one of my friend not only here, but also in TRAMEM and TRAKUŞ.

Merhaba Hocam,
