I can see why this is one of your favorites and congratulations for this prize winner. I have never seen this Sandgrouse before but this picture is so perfect I will not forget it. Everything about this is beautiful - the wing position, the face, the feathers, the amazing colors and the razorsharp details. I love the green and blue background. Loved the story too.

Umar should be a very proud man to receive such a lovely dedication and I am sure he will be. I like this image a lot. The separation of green and blue caught my attention as it is beautiful and the colours are striking. I can understand why this is one of your personal favourites, as it is really gorgeous. The details captured of this bird in flight is just tops, especially those lifted wings and the area around the face that is seen so beautifully and with great clarity. This image is indeed worthy a prize for any competition, and although you did win the overall prize, it still remains a winner in my eyes. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

I can understand that this superb picture is one of your favourites. It's simply beautiful. The bird is represented with great sharpness and details and this is not easy with a flying bird! Moreover, the colours of the two layers of the background are complementary and create a fine effect. All together is contrastful and harmonic at the same time.

Fantastic in-flight shot, perfect composition, sharpness and colors. 1/4000 seconds... This is something my bridge camera only may dream of... :) Nice colors and well blurred background, a top class shot overall, and a great dedication to Umar. Tfs.

I checked out Nomenclator Avium Hungariae, because this species is protected by our laws - but no success. It was never detected in our country (unlike its relatives Pterocles exustus and Syrrhaptes paradoxus, although they also visited the Hungarian lowlands very, very rarely. For example P. exustus only once, in 1863). Maybe later...
