Orakkanat - Common Brimstone

Scientifical Classification:
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Lepidoptera
Suborder: Ditrysia
Superfamily: Papilionoidea
Family: Pieridae
Subfamily: Coliadinae
Genus: Gonepteryx
Species:Gonepteryx rhamni (TUR: Orakkanat ENG: Common Brimstone). Thanks to Ozgur70 for helping ID.

When I asked this subject on "Uncle Google" he gave me some answers which you can find here and here.

I found this specimen near Inegol disstrict (70 km far from Bursa) Bursa - Ankara Highway. This time it was alone. Probably she divorced from her husband. Because of this she was so sad and didn't want to give a nice pose me. But I was cussed and I took a photo :) I looked for male, searched all surrounding area but never found. He has gone away! Perhaps Mrs. Brimstone depressed him. It must be a sadly story. Mrs. Brimstone didn't tell me anything about their marriage. If I could find Mr. Brimstone, we could have a chat man to man while drinking lemonade, he would tell me all about his life.

I often don't see this interesting leave-form butterfly in my region. I have seen it only 2 times for 4 years. I wanted to take it in a better environment, with more contrast coloured background and under a soft light. But there is not anytihng to do. It is there and I didn't have any other choice. Just, I tried to do my best.

The flower belongs to a Psoralea bituminosa (TUR: Asfalt Otu, Kokarot EN: Pitch Trefoil, Scurfy Pea, Arabian Scurfy Pea) from Fabaceae (Syn. Leguminosae) Family.

With my best regards...

Hi Fevzi!,

Initially I thought this is the leaf and flower picture. ;)
Very unique butterfly. Sharp and well exposed. Maybe need a bit better background.

Hello Fevzi,
Light and exposure control are great. The flower and the Brimstone stand out very well against the blurred background. Shallow DOF, composition, focus, sharpness and colors are very good. TFS
Best regards Siggi

Merhaba Akhi Fevzi,
very sharp indeed. The flower and the butterfly really stand out of the background excellently. The blurry background muted the view ,pushing it so clearly in good light.
Well composed hot.

Foozi

Hi, dear friend.
I am so glad to watch your new serious of wonderful shots. This one is also fantastic. Sharpness and details of the butterfly and flower are ultimate. Sunlight illuminates the wings and underlines the texture of the butterfly perfectly. I also like wonderful isolation of the main subject from BG. Great use of 2x converter and perfect macro lens. Bravo. My kind regards and TFS.
Alexei.

Merhabalar Fevzi bey.

Sevgiyle kal! İyi geceler.
