|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|In the first day of new year , the weather was brilliant and sun was shining. After a long and funny but hard nights morning, we run out to see people and nature in the quay of Kadıköy. Kadıköy, a district of Istanbul which holds 2 million people and has a border to Boshporus!(southeastern part of Boshporus and at Asian side) A big slice of population from Istanbul cake.|
There were thousands of smiling people walking outside with nice dresses from new year night. Like landside, sea has an elusive view with ten thousands of sea birds. Gulls, Cormorants, Herons, Yelkouan Shearwaters was completing this view...Gulls, the opportunists of all them were seem very tame. Yellow-legged Gulls and Black-headed Gulls were in a competition to catch pieces of simit(a kind of bread with sesame) throwen by people.
This adult Yellow-legged Gull(Larus michahellis) was hectoring around to afraid other gulls and try to get more simit pieces. Sea was so wavy, and the bird was so close. So it was not easy to find it in the right position and focus it. Here is the lucky moment. It looked at me while singing and I was still following it, at that moment:)
Have a nice year:)

eline sağlık, çok güzel bir çekim olmuş. beyazları güzel çıkmış. zamanlama ve netlik de çok güzel.
TN'de daha sık görmek dileğiyle hoşçakal, selamlar.
Very good picture, very striking, and provided action. It is a bird in a very friendly attitude. Excellent exposure and focus, good colors. I disagree a little on the composition, I think the fact of cutting the tail of the bird, hit the picture somewhat negative way.
Your patience for waiting for the right time to capture this brilliant shot was rewarded with this super pose of the Yellow-legged Gull. An excellent photograph which you managed to take in spite of difficult water conditions, and constant movement of the bird. In my personal opinion this image is perfect in all aspects. The expression on the birds face as well as in its eyes is beyond words. The bright yellow and red in contrast with the white feathers, partly in and out the light is very beautiful. Thanks for sharing this great image. Best regards.
