This photo taken today at 1300 meters above sea level, in small stream near the mountain top , at Kizilcahamam , Ankara , i saw firstly this kind of frog , i don't know what species , can anyone help me ? Thanks . |

Hello Akif,
Nice sharp and well composed shot of what I think could be some species of stream frog, maybe Rana graeca which is very variable in colouring. Maybe someone else can confirm or deny this.

Hi Akif,
The species is Rana ridibunda. It is very common in Turkey and may reach ut to 2500 meters above sea level. They have a lot of different color pattern. Lines in vetral side also may be seen in some populations. Very nice photo with great BG. Greetings. Mustafa

sanırım dünkü mesajım ulaşmadı veya silindi.
Dış ses kesesiyle ve (göz arkasında, kulak bölgesinde) temporal bant bulunmaşıyla bu bir Rana bedriage. önceleri yurdumuzdaki bütün ova kurbağaları Rana ridibunda alınırdı ancak şimdilerde R. ridibunda sadece Trakya'dakiler için kullanılan bir isim. Mustafa'nın yazdığı gibi bu tür yükseklere çıkabiliyor. ayrıca dağ kurbağlarının çoğu da sahile kadar inebiliyor (R. dalmatina gibi).
