Efteni Lake, one of the most important and precious location of the immigration way of passage birds.
This lake is home for approximately 150 kinds of waterfowl.
The 2. Bird Paradise of Turkey is Efteni Lake.
As one town talk the Efteni lake is adopted its name from the Eftalya the queen of Byzantine. The king to make a lake for his daughter to swim on this magnificiant land by building a dam infront of the Melen river, then the lake is formed.
As another town talk, there a city under the lake. By the flood it is drowned under the water. In the past naming Selaltı (Seraltı) to the Hacıyakup village near the lake is verifies it.
