[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is not typic position for wagtails. I drived on road among suburban area of Niğde. I saw it on rock along the road. Then, I stopped and took several photographes. Formerly, I observed similar position for some other passerine birds. They were afraid of from Carrion Crow (Corvus corone Linnaeus, 1758) or Brown-necked Raven (Corvus ruficollis Lesson, 1830). Today's afternoon, there were several Crow near us. But its unusual behaviour may be different, I am not sure.
Well, the family
MOTACILLIDAE – Kuyruksallayanlar, Wagtails of Passeriformes represented by 11 species from two genera, Motacilla Linnaeus, 1758 and Anthus Bechstein, 1805, in Turkiye. Of these, four species belong to the first genus, Motacilla, listed below with my previous posts' links.
…..*** Motacilla flava Linnaeus, 1758 – Sarı Kuyruksallayan [TR], Yellow Wagtail [EN],
…..*** Motacilla citreola Pallas, 1776 – Sarıbaşlı Kuyruksallayan (Citrine Wagtail),
…..*** Motacilla cinerea Tunstall, 1771 – Dağ Kuyruksallayanı (Grey Wagtail),
…..*** Motacilla alba Linnaeus, 1758 – Ak Kuyruksallayan (Pied Wagtail) (1, 2)

The Turkish population of Motacilla flava mainly belongs to M. flava feldegg Michahelles, 1830 and this black-headed form is different with from European form, namely nominative subspecies, M. f. flava L., 1758 - Blue-headed Wagtail with greyish head.

You can also see for additional information about these two and other subspecies Wikipedia by click the link.

The photograph was taken from car window and it was changed from RAW to JPEG.

Hello Ahmet,
Nice color, POV, & an interesting pose as it hugs this rock..
Tough light, but you managed it well. The wagtail stands out very well against this neutral grey BG too.
Good work & TFS!
