Hipparchia fatua

The Freyer's Grayling is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. The species can be found from the Balkans, through Anatolia up to Iran.
The wingspan is 30-34 mm. The butterflies fly from June to October.
The larvae feed on various types of grass.

Critiques [Translate]

A fine macro-shot from a lateral aspect Hürmüz, the harsh lighting caused some reflections from the wings but their pattern and colouration characteristics are still highly visible. The image stands off nicely against the dark BG.

Merhaba Hurmuz,
a fine picture of this large species of Satyrinae.
Excellent point of view and superb sharpness, although
it is slightly dereasing towards the wing margins.
But the focus is clearly on the head and the eyes.

Hello Hurmuz,
Very fine and well composed picture showing the Freyer's Grayling. Even if these butterflies seem to have dull wings, looking closer to them we discover very subtle patterns and fine colours. Very well done
