The family PSITTACIDAE, which all species of the order PSITTACIFORMES belong to this family, is represented in Turkiye by two species. These are from the parrot genus Psittacula, Afro-Asian Ringnecked parakeets as they are commonly known in aviculture originates found from Africa to South-East Asia. It is a widespread group, with a clear concentration of species in south Asia, but also with representatives in Africa and the islands of the Indian Ocean.
Since early 1990s, we have seen parrots in city centres of İzmir, Ankara, and İstanbul provinces as like Antalya, Ş.Urfa, Göksu Delta and some other places. Of these, Psittacula krameri -Yeşilpapağan [TR], Ring-necked Parakeet [EN] is more common in these areas.
Second species, Psittacula eupatria - Büyük Yeşil Papağan [TR], Alexandrine Parakeet [EN] has been known İstanbul city center. Its origin is not known exactly, may be introduced or escaped from houses. I found it in a park in Florya Vicinity of İstanbul. There were more than twenty in its cluster. One of them is presented by enclosed post and in flight. I hope you will like it.

Merhaba Ahmet,
I knew that P. krameri had spread itself in many places but did not know that P. eupatria had become feral in Istanbul!
A great in-flight capture of this Papagan taken from a fine almost lateral POV that shows its details with excellent sharpness and colours against a blue sky.
Tebrikler dostum!
Thanks and my best wishes to you,
Ivan

Merhaba Ahmet Bey,

Hi Ahmet,

A spectacular in-flight shot of this parrot in a horizontal position. The eyes, beak, feathers and the spectacular tail are marvelous. Beautiful red and green colors. Just wonderful against the blue sky. We only see parrots in cages here so I will never forget the very first time I saw them flying in the wild in India. I'm so glad you shared this delightful picture.

Nice and natural colours, good sharpness and fine details and it stand out well from the blue sky.
Maby a bit more clarity but that's me.
