Campanula persicifolia (Peach-leaved bellflower) [in Turk. Çan Çiçeği]

Hi friends, I’ve found this most popular campanula in Uludağ Mt.(Kestel, Bursa) when I visited our friend Fevzi. Today, I am dedicating this beauty to my Big Bro on TN, aka Gert Paassen (Gert-Paassen) to give him a present to congratulate his 700th posting on TN which he uploaded yesterday. Its flowers are cup-shaped and can be either lilac-blue or white. Its foliage is narrow and glossy with a bright green appearance. It is common in the Alps and other mountains in Europe and north-western parts of Anatolia. It grows at lower altitudes in the north, and higher up further south, passing 2,000 m. It flowers normally in June; a dry summer may reduce or inhibit its flowering.

Description: Glabrous, perennial. Stem erect, 55-120 cm, simple, ± striate. Basal leaves linear-lanceolate, petiole 80-110 x 10-200 mm, crenulate acute; stem leaves linear-lanceolate, without petiole, stem surrounded at base 3-30 x 5-70 mm, crenate, acute. Few flowers pedicellate in axils of upper leaves or sides, short petiole (-15 cm). Calyx not ciliate at base, without appendages, lobes linear-lanceolate, 6-17 mm, spreading-erect, persistent, erect in fruit; glabrous, acute. Corolla broadly campanulate, 2-3 cm, divided to 1/5 into short broadly triangular lobes, glabrous, blue. Stamens 5, broadened at base, glabrous. Style as long as corolla. Stigmas 3, lobed, ½ as long as style. Ovary ovate, glabrous. Capsule ovoid, obconical, 7-9 x 7-13 mm, erect, glabrous or rarely setulose, opening by ± apical pores. Seeds ovoid, 1 x 0.5 mm, shiny.
Flowering time: June – July
Grow-up places: In forest, meadows, road sides, 10-2000m.

It is so nice when the fellow members have some kind of celebration because then suddenly all special images as dedications pop up, just like the one you dedicate to him today. Oh how I wish it was mine, because it is truly beautiful. The dark colours are catching and cannot be missed, the details very sharply captured and the presentation tops. As I just said to Haraprasan, Gert has been spoiling us lately with some lovely images of the flowers of the Netherlands and this dedication is well worthy to him. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Hocam arka fonun siyah olması resmen Campanulayı çerçevesinden fırlatmış. Did you use a ''ring flash''?!? I believe this achieves this dark background.
