Turkish Name: Pirene Çokgözlüsü Kelebeği.

Distribution in Turkey: Marmara, Central Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia.

Distribution in the world: Northern Spain, France (Pyrenees), Very local in the Balkan Peninsula and the steppes of East Ukraine and South Russia, Greece, Transcaucasia.

Living Area: Generally, alpine meadows at an altitude of 1700-2250 meters above lives.

Flight time: One generation from late June to August.

Food Plants of the caterpillar: Caterpillars, Rock jasmine-Androsace villosa, are fed up with.

Description-Notes: It is a very small and inconspicuous butterfly. These plants were most often Thyme ( Thymus ) but also a large pale pink daisy (family Asteraceae ) both of which are shown in the photos above. Polyommatus pyrenaicus sub-species of Dardanus is living in the Balkans and Turkey, many researchers are recognized as a separate species. Male is bright blue gray above with narrow brown borders; female is brown.Both sexes have discoidal spots on each wing; one on forewing is more conspicuous. Underside of forewing is brown with an irregular row of potmedian spots, and additional spots in cell.Hindwing below has a large white discoidal spot and a few black spots ringed in white.

Wingspan: 23-28 mm long.
