One of six endemic mammal species in Turkey. It has a very restricted distribution area in southern Anatolia around Silifke town of Mersin Province.

Magnificent capture, Mustafa! Also you have contributed to the collection of TrekNature (to ours) a species of rodent little known outside of your country, Turkey. Great sharpness although the animal is moving, it is always difficult to achieve. Really a picture to illustrate this animal in an encyclopedia of natural life. Thank you for your important contribution.
