[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A picture from the Phrygian Highlands taken about a month ago, It was taken on a warm sunny morning on a hilltop in the eastern foothills of the Türkmen Dağ (Mountain). I have never seen one of these before, and assume its some kind of moth. An ID would be much appreciated.I also have a photo of it on my finger with its wings open that I would put into if I could work out how to do that. Like the picture I posted yesterday, the bright sunlight was a challenge.

Geoffrey,
Not a moth, but an owlfly - Libelloides longicornis. This is a just-emerged (teneral) adult before the wings have fully dried and gained full colour. They are very interesting and insects. I think you still need to work on getting sharp images, though - your kit should be capable of better than this by moving the focus point using the directional pad on the back of the camera to a position on the main subject - you seem to have focused on the twig here.
