[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The greenfinch is a well-known bird as it often visits gardens and drives other birds away from feeders. It is a relatively heavy looking bird, with a chunky bill and a stout body. It can be recognised by the yellow outer-most wing feathers (the primaries) which are visible when the bird is perching, the yellow flashes on the tail, seen easily when the bird is in flight, and the greenish underparts. Males have a yellowish-green breast and are much more yellow than the duller greyish female. Juveniles are similar to females, but are streaked. A twittering call is produced in flight; other vocalisations include a canary-like song and a wheezy, nasal ‘dschruuuuuh’.

Oh, man! This baby looks so fragile and not ready to confront the world!

Hello Alper, this is a very nice shot. Well done for capturing this young one. It's a great capture with a very nice composition. I think it is a little oversharpend, but it doesn't detract too much. Very nice work.

Excellent colors, lighting and composition.

This young greenfinch looks vulnerable indeed. Sitting on the ground with his feathers splayed out, he looks quite bereft. Great capture with sharp details and an unusual pose of the bird. Well done, Alper, and TFS. : )

The colours and the detail of the feathers is stunning. a very bedraggled juvenille defintely needing a parent or two...

Hi Alper,
Lovely shot of this cute little greenfinch. I like the colours and details and the way the young bird has its wing and tail stretched out. Good DOF. Well captured and composed with the bird positioned well!
