[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a shot from Lake Bafa, Turkey. I think it is one of the most beautiful places in Turkey. It's near Bodrum (about 1-2 hours away) and there is just too many reasons to go there. First, There are ruins of ancient civilizations everywhere. There are very very old churches, fresks, ikonas, etc. Also, the wild life is increadible. There are many types of endemic orchids which some of them are used for special hot drink called "sahlep". Therefore farmers collect and sell them to merchants. There is a high risk for some of the orchids being extinct. Many wild life organizations are now giving education to the farmers to keep at least 1 in the soil so it can again multiply for the next year. Hope they listen. Also, the lake is a major bird stop when they are migrating long distance so you can see many different kind of ducks, flamingos, pelicans, etc. It is absolutely incredible place but the best season is late Spring, like end of May, because it gets really hot during summer. A one week trek would be a great idea. You can find guides as well. Hope you can make it there one day.

About the Photo, I played with the contrast, colors and added some grain.

Hello Alp, nice shot. I love the atmosphere. Great shot. Maybe a little noise reduction would be good but then maybe that would change the effect. Well done.

Very, very nice. I really like the darkness the single sharp bush with the indistinct background. The light area in the clouds is well placed to highlight the tangle of branches. I'm not sure about the digital noise as PDP said it may change the effect, but as is it may be a bit much. Give a lot to think about. Have you tried it in black and white?

There is too much noise in the picture I think ... but it is a very nice composition ... full of mistery .

this photo is very very nice. I like the contrast it makes a very dramatic frightning effect. I just feel i want to be there.
