This one is an old friend to me, nursery web spider - pisaura mirabilis. It was on an ivy leaf, they generally prefer to walk on these ivy and netties at this time of the year. i think i saw one of them at summer of 2005 for the first time, this is because my interest on insects just started that times :-) After that i saw lots of them in the garden at the beginning of the spring of 2006. Now i saw theme still before the last snowy days. This nursery spiders and the red admirals (butterfly kind) are really tough guys. They can resist the cold weather, if any shiny day occurs, they are moving around.

Especially at the may, i saw their tiny spiderlings with guard of a mother. Lots of them i saw and curious about if all these ones live, my garden becomes a farm of spiders. i think that this one is one of the tiny spiderlings, getting bigger in a time and became a juvenile. Yeah, it is a middle weighted boxer:-)

i added the links below, if you want to see its growth.

Hope you like it. On aperture priority mode with -2 exposure.

Hi Ersin

Superb shot of this Spider, really nice composition and a great pose, the details are just perfect with great colours too. I pleased I haven't got Arachnophobia as this looks way too real.

Very crisp macro Ersin with amazing colors and lighting.

I like it a lot: composition, lighting, colors, POV, DOF, focus, sharpness, background, framing.

I like it: notes.

I don't like it: nothing to quarrel.

I like the small details and the perfect focus on the head.
Happy 2007!
Ricardo

Hi Ersin

Another very good spider macro from you, MF!

I really like the way the eyes are very visible on this one, as well as the beautiful bright stripe from its back.
The details here are excellent and sharp and the natural colors wonderful.
Good lighting, nice POV and great DOF.
Bravo and TFS

Hi Ersin,
Very sharp detail and excellent composition, helped in a way by the spider's pose, putting two legs exactly diagonally across the frame. Luminance of the BG is a bit distracting [IMMO] but all the same, you have an excellent shot.

Hello Ersin,
This is so nice to see a post from you :-) I liked to see those pictures in WS; what a great winter gestation. I have this doubt that you are actually taming spiders and I don't believe that you had snow in Turkey ;)

As usual, this is a very well documented and interesting post from you! I thank you for that and I wish you and your family the Best for this New Year :-)

Hello Ersin,

First of all, let me wish you a wonderful new year 2007 healthy and full of peace, joy and nature!

Excellent picture of this spider... You know, looking at spider pictures is for me a kind of therapy... I prefer looking at your picture knowing that that beast is so far from my home :-) Good pov and dof...

TFS,

Michel
