Landscape of Manakha in a heigth of 1500m.

Manakha liegt in etwa 1500 m Höhe in einem Sattel zwischen den weit über 2000 m hoch aufragenden Bergen des Harazgebirges. Schon immer diente Manakha als natürliche Festungsstadt zur Vorverteidigung von Sana'a. Die strategisch günstige Lage an den Steilhängen machte den Bau einer Stadtmauer überflüssig. Heute führt die Hauptverbindungsstraße vom Roten Meer hinauf nach Sana'a nahe an der Ortschaft vorbei – ein Besuch in dieser wild zerklüfteten Bergwelt gehört zu den landschaftlichen Höhepunkten einer Jemenreise.

Hi Achim.
I like this so delicate picture of a cute place. You have reproduced relief, poor vegetation and atmosphere perfectly. I also like soft lighting and modest colour palette. Shot has own soul and create nice impression. TFS and all the best.
