This female Eastern Bluebird was bringing a Cricket for her babies in a nesting box near by. I could make probably a better picture showing the whole bird but she was very stressed by my presence. She was flying left and right of the nest, trying to distract my attention from it… then I decide to let her alone.

Eastern Bluebird
Sialia sialis Order PASSERIFORMES - Family TURDIDAE
Other Names
Merlebleu de l'Est (French)
Azulejo garganta canela (Spanish)

The red, white, and blue Eastern Bluebird is a familiar and welcomed tenant of birdhouses in suburban yards, parks, and golf courses. The popularity of "bluebird trails" and the erection of nest boxes across the country have led to increased bluebird populations in many areas.

...and you did for sure here Mario! Very nice!

Hello Mario,

I think this picture is perfect!
The twig makes a good diagonal line for her perch, and the line of her body makes the alternative diagonal line. You just couldn't ask for better composition!
Superb details of colour and texture of this attentive female, nicely displayed against a soft, blurred b/g.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Mario well seen and taken. Nice of you not to stress her further.. In order not to stress my bluebirds made a camaflouge box perhaps could be a little awkward AT IBA:)

Hello Mario,
Beautiful bird, well composed, nice colors, etc.
The foodstuff is a bit black without details. Must be said I'm using a laptop right now.
