[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello friends. Today I made a double photographer's dream,
take a photo of a the Ruffed Grouse on her nest, and as a
bonus they were just born chicks as she was incubating them,
and second photographer's dream to take a photo of the chick
of the Ruffed Grouse.

If I compare the Ruffed Grouse with the American Woodcock
wish I also took photos of her incubating her chicks,
The Ruffed Grouse is very fierce, it's the only picture
(see in the WS) I have done because all of this after
my click, she ran away to hide in the vegetation followed
by some of her chicks.

Mommy Ruffed grouse incubating her chicks for now
I am posting it only in the WS, click the link to see it,
because I will post it next year doing it my
2017 « Mothers Day » photo.

« Nesting

Nest Description

The Ruffed Grouse’s nest is a simple, hollowed-out
depression in leaves on the forest floor, reaching up
to 6 inches across and 3 inches deep. Females build
the bowl-shaped nest and typically line the bowl with
vegetation that they pluck from the edge of the nest site.

Nest Placement

Ground
After mating, female Ruffed Grouse choose a nest site at
the base of a tree, stump, or rock in areas with sparse
ground cover that give a clear view of predators.
Nests may also be built in brush piles, or in the bases
of partially open, hollowed-out stumps. »

Merci.

Bonjour Asbed,
Tout simplement adorable et bravo pour cette prise! Parfait camouflage pour ces petits. Comme d'habitude une photo aux couleurs bien naturelles.

Indeed a prized moment, Asbed. Those little ones look to fresh and vulnerable.
A beautiful composition with the nest for BG.

Bonjour Asbed,

Les branches cadrent bien les oisillons. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des bébés Gélinottes huppées. L bonne luminosité rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Asbed,
How nice to see these beautiful little Ruffed Grouse chicks which have hatched. The grouse numbers have declined drastically since I was a boy here in Ohio. It is hard to even get a flush now-a-days which is sad.
Nicely captured in good detail and natural colors. I like the way you show the rest of the eggs in the nest as well as those which have already hatched.

Hello Asbed,
Beautiful photo of these chicks in great sharpness and nice natural colors. Pathetic photo.
Your logo on that place is a bit disturbing.
