Taken two days ago at the Ecomuseum during the biggest snow storm we had since 30 years. It has been the most memorable winter day of my life being there under the snow with wolfes, foxes, lynx, otters, caribous and so on. I left my home at 7:00 am and returned at 5:00 pm. It tooks 3 hours by metro and bus to go there and the same time to return home. The traffic was very slow because of the storm but it really worth that trouble to live four marvellous hours with those animals. I was the only visitor that Ecomuseum had that day. I had to walk into two feet of snow, hiding my camera under a plastic bag. There were strong winds of fifty kilometers per hour. Once, I failed to lose consciousness so much I were exhausted and cold. The paradise! Unforgettable day! And I have photographic memories...

Thank you for looking.

Luc bonjour, j'espere que vous etes remis de cette tempete de neige !! Votre photo du Lynx dans la neige est superbe et vous l'avez bien meritée. chez nous il ne fait que -7°C ce matin!! Bon dimanche, Didier.

Great pose you captured, the tree in the FG provides an insight into the reason for the colour of the fur, good detail, like the sprinkling of snow on its back, eye contact provides a geat impact, and it even seems to smile!
Regards,
Gabi

Beautifull photo Luc! The gaze of the eyes is very strong and I get the feeling the cat is looking right into me. The composition is very nice and the exposure in the snow well executed. TFS!

Hi Luc

I look forward to your shots of the Lynx. This is another beauty. I love the tufts of fur from the ears. You have nade perfect eye contact here. Doesn't look like this guy is worried about the heavy snowfall at all. Nice work. TFS.

Wow - it was really a special day!
you captured it in a fantstic way. I`m afraid of this cat...I feel the 'contact' with her ;-)
TFS :-)

Hi Luc, fine shot, its a bit soft but at the end of the day I still rembered the lynx in the snow so the visual impact is strong. Must be worth a visit this Ecomuseum, thanks for sharing the information. Greetings Reina

This guy almost looks like my cat!

(Except for the tufts of hair off the ears, and those powerful paws, and that keen killer instinct, and those piercing eyes, that is.)

Ok, so it doesn't really look like my cat at all. ;-)

A provocative shot filled with a sense of determination and wonderful details.

Thank you Luc!

Hi Luc,
This is an outstanding shot on this Lynx. Composition and framing are flawless. The exposure looks to be spot on. Detail is excellent.

Hi Luc,
Very beautiful and captivating picture!

Lynx canadensis Or Lynx rufus

They are often confused with their smaller feline cousins the Bobcat, but can be easily distinguished by their tail tips. The tail of the Lynx looks as though it was dipped in an inkwell being black all the way around, whereas the Bobcat’s tail appears to have been painted black on top and white on the bottom.

Stealthy hunters, they stalk their prey, then pounce and (if successful) kill with a bite to the vertebrae of the neck. They occasionally eat small domesticated animals and poultry.

I guess it could easily eat my cat, but I hope it don't...
I didn't get to see it, but some men working on a house adjacent to some woods said they saw a bobcat dart out of the woods lightning fast and nail a chicken which it took back to the woods to devour.

I got to learn something today plus enjoy a beautiful picture!
Thanks,
Dave
