Take a big breath and plunges!
For Bente
River Otter
Lontra canadensis

It is not easy to manage with the water, the sun and a swimming otter. I think it is the best I can do for now and I wanted to show this to Bente.

This very good shot with your compact.
Great action, good details and compostion. I like the waterdrops.

I actually really like this picture just as it is. The pose of the otter is so dynamic, with his mouth slightly open and his body at a diagonal. The water splashes add to the sense of action. Yet the water ripples provide a crisp background, without distracting from the main focus of the otter, which is captured in very sharp detail. Congratulations!

It is indeed a stuning freesing shot, Luc.
I see it for me but I must say you capture it on the best moment, very good job here.

Hi Luc, I think it's a rather good capture. These scenes need a lot practice and i do not have that experience to tell how to improve this shot. On the other hand this motion blur explains what's happenning very good.
Well done.

I wondered what it was on the thumbnail. Very good action shot Luc. They are so free in the water. Very good catch. Well done.

Hello Luc and Happy Easter! Nice action shot caught at just the right moment..Very nice, Thanx!!

For a compact Luc, you did very well with your composing. The action is good. I'm not sure if you could have pushed a faster shutter speed.
Well done.

Mike

Great action shot, one of the best I've seen 'till now.
Very well done my friend.
TFS.

Nicely caught Luc,
The water looks great, a nicely timed capture. These otters are so quick in the water, and a real pleasure to watch.
Thanks for posting

Hi Luc, great action shot it's a pity you couldn't have got a faster shutter speed but it's still very nice. Well captured.

Wow quelle prise! Il fallait être rapide pour une telle photo.
Bravo!

This is an excellent actionshot Luc! Very well done! TFS!

Well Luc, I have nothing this nice, I actually have only one, very old slide about 20 years old of an otter on a concrete landing. I love the movement, and his joyful face, a toothy grin, the English would call it.
I think you did very well with the conditions, and the camera.
Have a good time the rest of the weekend.
I am sorry to hear about the unfortunate death. It comes to all, unbidden, and often so sudden. I trust your kids will find strength of heart in these trying times, at the right Source.
From a rainy Gauteng!
