[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I can't believe it's been a whole year already. I have photoed in the cold, rain, heat and beat the incredible hoards of mosquitos that came out after the monsoon rains of June. I have climbed mountains, fell down a river bank (the camera is Ok, my knee and a tree stump broke my fall), have been chased by bison, charged by Elk and met a black bear that wanted to sniff my feet. I wouldn't have traded any of it away.

A year ago I couldn't spell DOF and POV and now I actually know what they are. This a crazy unique site, I love all the pictures that are posted here 24hrs a day. I check it every couple of hours on my i-phone. Above all it has been a great place to learn about nature, both yours and mine. Thanks to all who posted comments to my pictures over the last year.

This is a picture of one of my favorite places. It's the Athabasca river valley in Jasper. The last time I was there I rented a cabin on the river bank just to the left.

Happy 1st anniversary to you! You are right : this site is unique and here we learn lots about nature and also we have the possibility of share knowledge and experiences...It is really crasy! And the last but not the least we can meet people from all the world! So, lets celebrate your 1st anniversary!

Hello Denis,

Happy anniversary Pal! I joined around the same time as you & also was a bit perplexed about BGs,POVs & DOFs. In fact, if someone had told me a year ago that I would be photographing dragonflies, butterflies & mushrooms & really, really enjoying it .... I would have asked them to immediately consult their psychotherapist.

Not now though, TN has enlightened me on all the nature - under my nose - that I'd been missing.

Beautiful Jasper composition btw & it's great to see this part of the country so well represented by yourself.
