Hello All,
While out at dawn I was stealthy, LOL, sneaking up on a pair of Mule Deer bucks when I almost stepped on a doe, I froze she stared and this is the results. As for the bucks well, she jumped up and scared them off, oh well I'll try again soon. It's great to have these deer in some of our local wild place parks.

Hello Rick,
Excellent shot.Lovely relaxed pose, excellent POV. I like the composition in the field as well.
Best regards Siggi

HI Stealthy!,

I am surprised that you were able to get off this shot with both of you being surprised and all. It is a nice capture, but on my monitor looks like it could use a bit of enhancing to add to the contrast and sharpness. Most digital images need a little help especially after they've been resized for upload to TN. I played with a workshop on your grizzly photo the other day. I think this one might benefit from the same enhancements. Your white balance feels off to me. I find with my 40D that the WB settings are way different than the same settings on my Rebels.... "Auto" is TOO blue. Try "Shade" it is much more golden for this type of shot. I also am disappointed with the LCD on the 40D. I could see sharpness much clearer on the 30D than on the 40D????????

Hi Rick,

Another one of your wonderful shots with an animal's priceless expression. She is beautiful with the wide spread ears, the beautiful eyes and nose and the lovely markings. Hasn't Lucy taught you to watch where you step? Nice of the bucks to run off when a lady might have been in distress!

Those ears are ginormous!
You must have been very stealthy to sneak up on her while she had those awesome things! :-)
Very good natural capture.
Great sharpness.
Superb composition.
Slightly blue colour-cast but could easily be fixed.

Well done,
