Hi All,
This image of a drake Mallard Duck doing what I call flaring was shot horizontally but I cropped it vertically which I like better. Flaring or what I call flaring is when a bird is coming at you and suddenly goes sideways when it sees you. I have always liked this shot except that because in was taken with a setting sun, the green head almost looks black. If anyone can get it green please let me know how.

Hi Rick.
I cannot image better scene for this cute animal. Simply amazing shot, timing and composition. I like wonderful illumination of the bird, pleasant warm sunlight and great reproduction of every detail and feature of the fine bird. Bravo.

Absolutely perfect...It comes soon for a time to change my logo..I will speak with you....a wonderful image in flight. Your good lens and steady hands made it so!

Hello Rick,
Nice in flight shot, great timing, excellent sharpness and good depth of field.

Hi Rick,

I agree that the vertical crop is effective. I really like the warm light from below. You did a nice panning job on this one. I really need to practice that. Thanks for the challenge. I gave it a go also.

Evelynn : )

great capture, greetings Ori

Regards Jiri.

hello Rick

superb in-flight shot of the drake Mallard Duck
with fine POV and appropriate vertical framing,
i love the light of the sun coming on the bird, TFS

Hello Rick,
Well composed in flight shot of this Mallard.
About the green head 'issue', it's all due to the light I guess and other factors such as whether the head is wet or not.
I think you can't edit this through some kind of developer.
At least, I shouldn't do that:-).
