Bohemian Waxwing
Bombycilla garrulus

The Bohemian Waxwing is not a regular visitor in this area, and when they show up this year, they arrive in the hundreds. They enjoy both fruit and berries. The name Bohemian means nomadic, which suites these colourful birds so well since they don't stay in one place for long.

The Bohemian Waxwing are usually found in mixed forests and are a regular visitor to parks and gardens.

Hallo Janice
For a moment I thought my eyes are playing the fool with me, but then I realize it is not and that I am for sure seeing a posting with your name on it. Although smaller than usual this is a great image with lots and lots of lovely details to appreciate. Mostly I like the variation of bright and beautiful colours and then of course your main subject the 2 gorgeous birds that is so beautifully seen. I really hope that this is not only a once off and then you are gone again. I miss you guys around on the site. Thanks for sharing.
Best regards.

Hi Janice,

While the image is relatively small, but really a cute shot. It is like a holiday card with the colorful berries and the two birds and snowy background. Lovely shot. I think I see one of them move :)
