Sadly I do understand the reference.
Cute little fellow, superbly captured and presented. Correct me if I am wrong, Reds are native and Greys are interlopes from Europe.

I'm old but don't know about Euell Gibbons. However it is a fine capture of an American Red Squirrel taken from a great POV as it feeds on this pine cone, with fine sharpness and great side-lighting.
Nicely composed in the fallen pine tree too.
Thanks for sharing this cutie,

I made a search for the reference... Forget me! The television commercial was before my birth. lol
For the picture, nice POV, composition and I like the natural red background.

Ahhhh...when I think of Euell I always think of Asparagus... the name of one of his books or partial...my mom and dad owned it and bought me a copy while we were up in the wilds..but unlike Euell, we actually fully lived teh lifestyle...and as a reminder we went out on Friday nights to the only eatery in N Ferry county, The Blue cougar for? MACHO NACHOS....!!!
Great image and teh combination of notes gives it some zest...bam! As one chef says..

I'm old and had to ask son Barry what you were talking about. He knew! That's a nice big pine cone the cute squirrel is working on - love how he holds it in his "hands." Nice natural colors and good details - the big eye is great. Wonderful pose and lovely composition.

You managed to catch this wonderful squirrel at classic and most impressive pose. And moment. I also impressed with excellent exposure of the image in spit of the difficult light conditions. Patter, created by twigs are fine for this beauty. My kind regards and TFS.

I sure do remember his TV ads for grape nuts and until I saw the title for this post, had not thought of him since the 70's.This photo has a soft and muted pallet of colour that looks very nice to my now very winter weary eyes. The pose this little critter has is classic and it is nice that the capture shows it enjoying it's pine cone.A fine photo that shows well the little rodent whom might like those old grape nuts better than that cone, thanks for sharing. A very cute little guy/gal, nicely composed, with good detail and sharpness.
Your title caught my eye, as I'm an old Euell Gibbons fan, have a few of his books, well-used and treasured.
