|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Close to Ladner is the Reifel Bird Sanctuary. These Snow Geese arrive every year to spend their winter. Some call them Siberian Snow Geese - but likely from many northern regions besides the USSR.|
They stay far from the field edge so a long lens is usually required. Hunters wait in field outside the sanctuary so people need take care not to frighten the birds.
This field had left over potatoes for the birds to eat. Some nearby farmer will also have winter grass for them as well.
In November there is a festival in their honour.
