A change of pace from the usual alpine shots here. This is known as "spotted lake" which is near Osoyoos, BC. Here's a bit of a writeup on it taken from michaelkluckner.com:

Spotted Lake can be spotted from Highway 3, 8.8 kms (5.5 miles) west of Osoyoos. It is a rare natural phenomenon covering 15.2 hectares (38 acres), containing one of the world's highest concentrations of minerals: magnesium sulfate (epsom salts), calcium and sodium sulfates, plus eight other minerals and traces of four more, including silver and titanium. As the summer progresses the lake dries out, its mud forming into white, pale yellow, green and blue circles depending on its mineral composition. Known as Kliluk to the natives of the Okanagan Valley, the lake is a sacred and culturally significant site whose potential for commercial exploitation recently generated much controversy.

This is a 3 shot pano taken shortly after sunrise.

That is a very interesting shot indeed, Tim.
Great job on the panorama. by the way. Good notes as well.
What an unusual scenery.
Well seen and well captured.
TFS. : )

Hi Tim,
What an unusual and very interesting looking lake. I've never seen anything like this before. Looks like it is slowly drying up and becomming a salt pan. Do you have a close up of it which shows some of the colors? I like your POV and the wide angle. Great colors and exposure.
Thanks for this beautiful piece of nature and the informative note.

Bonjour Tim
C'est une excellente composition avec ce beau paysage! La présentation est très jolie avec de belles couleurs, ainsi que les détails.Il est vraiment s^pécial ce lac Merci pour le partage .
Au revoir et Bravo ....JP

Your point of view really enhances this scene. I love the blue reflection in the closer "spots" and the dark ones on the others. Panoramic crop works well here. Great sharpness and DOF.

Thanks for sharing

Hi Tim,
I have some problems to have a good idea of the scale of this lake. Are these big trees around the edges? Then the figures must be huge.
Very interesting note.

Really interesting notes Tim.
Yes I can believe someone would like to get their hands into this lake to try and make some $$$.
Interesting composition and nice colours. TFS Janice
