[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I love watching ocean waves bearing down on rocks.
North of Powell River is a seldom-populated campground called Dinner Rock, rumoured to be named after a ship wrecked on a nearby rock.
Here, the lens brings the wave closer to the eye than it actually is, giving the illusion of a huge mass of water rising up.
One of the hardest parts of photographing this is to keep the foreground rock out of the shadows while keeping the water from getting blown out.
Overall, I like the colours - red-brown contrasts well with sea-green and blue-white.

Dear John!

I like it, too. It's a simple, yet very pleasant picture. I like it especially for its dynamism and the power hidden in the blurred wave. And you are right, the colour tones are very beautiful and somehow seasonal.

Kind regards

Excellent. Love the 1 sec exposure... very cool. I need to carry my tripod more often! Well done. - Kelly

Hi John,

an very good shot from tis waves and rocks.
Fine colours and good exposure time.

Hi John,
I love the motion in the wave a lot. It really feels as if it is about to crash onto the rocks. The receding water on the rock with the mist around it is beautiful. The rock itself could use some sharpening.

Ok, I'm jealous. This is an awesome shot! I love it. TFS!
