This goose breeds in northern Canada and the northeast tip of Siberia, and winters much further south in the continent in the southern USA and beyond.
Snow geese migrate in large flocks, often visiting traditional stopover habitats in spectacular numbers.
Their nests are usually located in a slightly elevated location on the ground, built with plant material and lined with dawn.
They mate for life.

Hi Jean

Beautiful shot! You've captured the vitality and dynamism of the moment perfectly. The soft blues, greens and greys are stunning. Well composed, I like the empty bit of horizon in the top right of the frame. It adds to the sense of motion.

This shot caught my eye! I simply love it! I see masses of shorebirds and wading birds in Nova Scotia, but never seen these! Gives a whole new meaning to Snowbirds eh! Are they heading to Florida ;)

Wow fab shot! How wonderful to see them in flight! I have only seen film of this. They look good against the blue sky. Great colour, detail and light. Fab composition.
