[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

I love the billowing clouds of a thunderstorm. I get my binoculars to watch how fast the clouds can grow. This time I grabbed my camera and snapped a few shots.

Thunderstorms can produce large hail and tornados. This storm did produce hail just north of were I live.

On September 7, 1991 in Calgary we had a huge hail storm that lasted 30 minutes and did 342 million dollars in damage to cars, houses and businesses. The insurance companies got together and hired a company to seed the clouds to help prevent large hail and the damage that comes with it. During most storms I can hear the Hail Plane flying around.

Beautiful cloud shot...great contrasts.
Those hail storms are wild, aren't they?

Hello Janice,
An excellent photo showing the warm mass of the clouds rising to the cold and flat structured clouds above.
Thunderstorms are Great!!!

Hi JAnice,
Lovely image of these billowing clouds. They are spectacular aren't they. I like the two distinct types of clouds here, good sharpness too. Well done and TFS
Cheers Tina :-)

Hello Janice,
A well exposed cloud formation!
Seeing them develop is a fascinating scenery, wondering what will come out in the end, rain or shine...
Interesting note!

Hola Janice,
Se extrañaban tus fotos de nubarrones tormentosos. Esta es realmente imponente y majestuosa, con intrincadas y bellas volutas.

I am always drawn to cloud shots, especially those with the drama that mid-air produces. The complex, yet often unseen, wind patterns are made beautifully clear here. Wonderful. Well done.

Hello Janice,

I love big sky's - Huge dramatic puffy whites - the sort you see Michelangelo's angels flying around!

Great tonal range and contrast; colour and sharpness spot on. Little lens vignetting in the corners but that doesn't detract from a wondrous image.

Thank you and best,

Miffy 'O
