Hi Rick,
It's nice to see them in context with their surroundings here, the mountainous BG really helps gives an overall feel for these magnificant birds and their lives. Perfect composition too, with them staring into the space on the left.
Great work, they look almost regal...now all you need to get is one of them catching the Salmon ;o)

Hi Rick,
A very nice capture and as you say something different then all the close ups from this bird, you were lucky enough to see a couple a nice extra is that one is in the darker BG f the trees and the other one in the bright colors of the sky, both are well exposed and give good detail, tfs

Hi Rick,
What a beautiful pair of eagles displayed in all their splender....just as you said they should be.A lovely composition as your placement has emphasised their view out over the valley.Good clarity and DOF.I would be very happy to view such a sight in person.

This truly is a great shot. I agree with you on the shots taken in captivity. Those do make wonderful close-ups, but nothing compares to seeing them in the wild. We have several Bald Eagles living around Lake Sam Rayburn in East Texas. They roost on dead trees in the middle of the lake. I haven't dared yet to take my camera out there. I will one day.

Hello Rick,
Magnificent is the word!
These two bald Eagles are beautifully portrayed in their domain, surveying the surroundings from the top of this hemlock tree. The composition is superb and the Eagles stand out well against the slightly OOF mountainous BG.
Thanks for sharing this prize from your archives, Rick!

Hi Rick,
I agree so much with your notes! Yes, those birds have a kingdom because they are Queens and Kings of the air :)! What a precious and excellent capture. I would be crazy to have captured this moment myself :)!

Hi Rick,
Great composition, by having them completely on the left makes them looks even more dominant with their eyes looking far way to the horizon. You've captured a great moment here. Congratulations!

Rick, this is a fantastic image from the summer of 2005.
The two eagles are perched on the tree in a sort of pleasant formation.
They are very well captured in this shot.
I like the OOF BG of the mountains.

Hi Rick
Couldn't agree with you more!!!
This is indeed the best place for them, and also the best place to photograph them. That's why i like your photo so much!
The setting here is superb for this kind of photo...the light is nice, the BG is beautiful and contrasting in colors and the fact that you found 2, not only 1, is even more special. By the way, i see you've used a focal length of only 380mm for this shot...how close to them were you?
Anyway, i just love all the details, the colors and surely the pose of these two, so i'm adding this shot as one of my favorites. Congratulations! Wonderful work!
Really thanks for sharing

Exceptional shot Rick!
You've made these two Bald Eagles look very proud.
Excellent DOF showing the surrounding land well while blurring it enough so it is not distracting.
Very, very sharp with great detail and clarity.
Magnificent lighting and colours.
Another addition to my favourites :)
Well done,
Joe

Hello Rick
Excellent DOF,and POV.The treetop capture is wonderful...how does that small branch hold the weight of that large eagle?
The colours are vibrant, and the birds beaks and feet show well.
The OOF BG is amazing, and makes a perfect backdrop for this image.
Nicely done
