Linda, correct me, but this appears to be the female as the ruby bib is missing from this one.

We dont see that often, a Hummingbird perched.
Hello Linda! The smaller they are the more difficult it is to photograph them even when they are not moving. You have managed to get a well composed image. I quite like the natural setting, the blurred background and the way the little fellow is perched. On my monitor however, it appears a bit dark (underexposed). I have posted a WS, please take a look and see whether it is an improvement of not.

What a pretty photo! Love the placement of the lilac tree and the cute little humingbird..gee I never knew that they actually sat still! :o) Great DOF , cute shot. TFS
