Nice show. The subject matter of this shot is awesome. But I would have like a little more clarity and details in the picture. Anyways, a great moment to shoot, and beautiful colours. Thanks for sharing.

Quelle vitesse et bon timing tu as eu! Les couleurs sont très belles, la lumière aussi, tout est beau! merci,

This is a nice shot of a landing duck, you know me , I love
ducks specially int the air.
The picture is maybe not the best technically but with your
small compact it's great. I know how hard it is to shot ducks in the air with a camera with trigger delay, slow auto focus and a small viewfinder. It would be nice to what you could do with a DSLR without the limits, I know you should do great, you have the eye for this.
About the picture; it's well composed with a fine POV and nice
stop action, The reflection is very nice too.
GREAT mirror! What a perfect reflection here! And your shot couldn't have been timed better. WOW! So here's the question...did you know when to click, were you lucky, or did you just click several as the duck came in for a landing?
Just being nosy.

I missed this while we had internet problems.
This is a great well-timed capture of a Mallard drake about to land on the water. The POV and composition are excellent and the way the reflection mirrors the duck is superb inthis wonderful composition.
Thanks for sharing this beauty and have a good weekend,

I missed so many of your great shots but I can't skip over this one. Wow! C'est magnifique! The perfect pose - and what a reflection! Colors and details are wonderful. I love the face, wings and feet. You should be very very happy with this one. I know I would be thrilled if it was mine.

Great catch Asbeb,
The very calm water has helped produce a fine mirror image here, nice POV..
Beautiful capture of a dynamic scene. Perhaps my favorite part is what no one else has mentioned- the slight disturbances in the water surface immediately behind the bird. The larger riffle at the right edge appears to be from the downdraft of the previous wingbeat. It even seems like there are slight lines along the flight path after that, made by the air pushed down by the tail feathers. All this is visible only because of the otherwise glassy smoothness. These marks are like a shadow in time of where the bird has just been, similar to the wingtip touch ripples of a loon or cormorant taking off.
You do yourself and the camera an injustice calling it a P&S. This is all I use by choice (Canon S5) and I find it liberating to have all that capability crammed into one compact unit. Far more sophisticated than my old film SLRs, which were definitely not P&S.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful image.

The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing with precision the details and colors of the mallard duck seconds before it landed on the water. The subject is well frame. The light brings out the beauty of the colors. have a nice day.
