Hi All,
First I want to say to Evelynn Smith, Ok I see your buck and raise you three moose.

This image was captured in Waterton Lakes National Park in an old beaver dam area. This cow and two calves were eating and drinking in this area for about a half hour. They were very much on guard as this area is frequented by Black Bears. I bet Evelynn even knows where this was taken. We'll have to see if she can "call" on the moose. I bet Wolf can.

Hi Rick,
what an excellent composition showing the environment that these moose call home. The colour and details are all wonderful and it is so hard to critique a photo that shows so much and shows it well.I only wish that I could see the full sized version as it must be something to behold.I like all that green and especially more so now with it having been so dull and chilly lately.Ah, summer and the living is easy, now if I could raise you four mountain cats, but alas I can't,maybe three gophers! Thanks for sharing this most natural image of green and moose living their lives. Bob

Hello Rick

I love that they are oblivious to you looking in on them.
You seem to have a lofty perch.
Lovely rich green colours.seeing it reminds me how much I already miss it.Everything is fairly brown here.
Great detail and focus.
Well done.

You poker players...You're the reason Tn is going down....shame shame...ha! Hey did you or Eve see the James Parker I think if wrong someone let me know..the water hod shot??? If not...go look for it...superior image...Hey rick and yours is just fine...it shows EXACTLY why we had no water in the wilderness..well we did but only for washing clothes and such...E-COLI..I think I am going to really bump you up a notch..Look at the workshop in about 1/2 hours.
Bob

Ah... so that is how it is huh? I'm not going to "call"! I'll see your three moose (next post) and I'll raise you a bull next time.

Can't say that I know just where this was taken, but it looks like great forage. We were dismayed to learn that since the reintroduction of wolves in the Yellowstone Basin, 90% of moose calves are lost annually. Also the grizzlies are not only multiplying but taking more moose. The moose have started to calve near the roads for safety and now the grizzlies are becoming more habituated and boldly take calves right by the roads. Moose are all but gone in Yellowstone and rapidly declining in the Tetons!

It makes your post even more special. I hope these little guys made it. Last year the Many Glacier Moose were attacked by a horrible tick infestation which we documented with photos for the rangers who were not aware of it. The cows were very weakened. The rangers were very concerned. We felt so sorry for those moose.

Hi Rick,

What a luscious scene! I would love it even without the animals. The greenery and the water are just beautiful - the moose picked a wonderful place to have a drink. I'm wondering where you were when you took this picture to get such a marvelous pov.

Jane

Ciao Rick,
bellissima cattura, un habitat meraviglioso con i vividi colori delle erbe e gli animali che si avvicinano cauti all'acqua, ottima nitidezza.

Hi Rick!

I like the challenge with Evelynn and as a spectator I take full advantage of it by learning much about these animals and the difficulties they apparently have. The picture is technically perfect and shows a fine natural environment.

Kind regards

Markus

It is beautiful, Rick, and I just love your challenge with Evelynn! But this is a great picture, difficult to achieve, because the composition is superb, we see all three perfectly and the surrounding is fantastic. I love seeing where they live and here it is. A beautiful piece of your fantastic province, that I am discovering with your help and Bobair's. Many thanks my deer friend ;-)!
