No sooner than I said to my husband that one day I hoped to get a shot of a tree full of eagles, we rounded a corner and were greeted with this sight. I think there are about 40 bald eagles in these trees. Harrison Mills is one of three BC areas where eagles congregate in the late fall to feast on dead salmon. The river was full of them. The eagles feed until about 10:00 am and then retreat to neighboring trees for most of the day. As the river was fairly low, the dead salmon had not yet washed out and seagulls and eagles were feasting. The weather was not cooperative and we only had a little more than a day where we could shoot at all... between showers. Then the low clouds and rain settled in for days and we gave up. We did get some nice shots though and are looking forward to trying again next year.

Hello Evelynn,

Your photo is very intresting showin so many egales gathered in several trees. Even if there were no eagles in your photyo it shoud have been a very nice one. I like the fine color tones you have rendered as well as the fogy background. With light and colors you have nicely defined different planes in the image giving a nice depth to it.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Hi Evelynn
Wow,This is an incredible capture. The most I have ever seen in a group is about 8 and I though that was a lot. Great job Evelynn and TFS.
Tom

Hi Evelynn
What a pity the weather didn't hold for you as this is a wonderful spectacle. You have my sympathies - her in the UK the last few weekends have been grey and miserable. I didn't know that eagles gathered like this. Thank you for sharing and better luck next year!
Kind Regards
Vinny

Fantastic one Evelynn.Great capture and great colors.

Hello Evelynn,
Bu ne kadar güzel ve heyacan verici bir kare. Ağaçlardaki kuşları gören her kuşsever gibi ben de bir "ah keşke orda olsam" diye içimden geçirdim. Çok güzel bir kayıt. Eline sağlık.

Hi Evelynn!

Your picture fascinates me in two ways. On one hand there's the fact that so many eagles are together on a couple of trees. This is really impressive. On the other hand the atmosphere is superb! The coloured layer in the foreground contrasts so nicely with the the other more or less grey layers. The fog in the background rounds the automnal ambience off. It's simply beautiful!

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Evelynn,
amazing view on such many birds meeting in one place the same time. Really nice picture. Very good also with the weather- hard conditions but looks really atmospheric. Good composition with the trees and layers in different colours.
Cheers
Adrian

Hello Evelynn,
Wooow, 40 Bald Eagles, what a sight!! I never thought you could see so many at any one time! In spite of the dull weather you caught a brilliant view here. The composition is very beautiful and I love the colours and the black/white birds show up very well! Excellent work!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Great colours and nice lighting.
Superb composition as well. TFS. Carme.

Hello Evelynn,
What an amazing sight: so many eagles at once in this group of trees. I have never seen so many eagles at once in real life: I have seen about half the number of White-tailed Eagles near home one January.
Excellent capture of a large group of Bald eagles, their white heads and necks clearrly seen against the misty forested BG slope.
Thanks for sharing this fine glimpse of what must have been a wondeful experience.
Ivan

Question...is this common? I have never ever seen more than 2...I have never seen an image with ....well frankly I don't know but it wouldn't be this many or I would remember...What a chance grab it was...I put this in the Classics section...it truly belongs there...yikes...it leaves me speechless...and wondering...
Bob

Wow - Evelynn, what a moment, I never saw so much eagles together - never ever captured a single eagle in a tree ;-(
It's a mystic mood here with the fog in the BG - but the yellow trees are bringing light and warmth into the shot - I love it, thanks, very beautiful motive

Hi Evelynn

What an amazing sight!! Lovely composition too - the stark trees and billowing mist behind make a great, moody composition. Well seen and captured.

James

Hi Evelynn,
what an excellent capture of so many eagles and the most that I have seen are nine in one tree and the most I have seen in a single photo was 129 that was taken in Alaska near Hyder.Well despite the weather you have got a capture of what you set out to get and I'm just about green with envy, wow what a sight it must of been. The photo is right as rain,no pun intended,as the colour looks nature and the details are nicely focused for an overall moody effect to the composition.Knowing how serious looking these birds are, I would think they would look even more severe with the poor weather, sort of unhappy, well maybe. Were you able to get in even more closely or was the ground not very user friendly and maybe too wet and cold, brushing through the underbrush? An interesting and fine photo that you have shared and thank you. Bob

Hello Evelynn

We decorate our trees for Christmas a bit differently up here in Canada.
What a wonderful find.
This is a magical moment and it must have been exhilarating to be there first hand.
Great job.

Hi Evelynn,
a trult evocative image..and they could only be bald eages with glowing heads like that, couldn't they?? The background, i think, makes this shot into a special one. Beautiful, masterful work.
Paul

Very nice Evelynn, most shots of eagles are close-ups, it's nice to show eagles in different situations. Well done.
I stopped on my second finger when I was up there photographing the baldies, next time stop by my house and pick me up it's on the way, I am real easy to get along with and I tell stupid jokes.

Unbelievable! Stupendous!
I have never seen that many eagles in my whole life,
let alone all at once in the same trees!
A great scene with a beautiful composition and rich colors.
I am green with envy. : )
TFS. : )

OK, I didn't see this one....that's a jump high in the air moment for me. What a sight so many of these beautufil birds sitting together in a few trees.
Beside the sight of that many eagles the landscape part of this photo is wonderful as well. The mood of the fog hugging the ever greens in the back is great. The contrast with the brighter trees in the front makes even more special.
TFS,
Niek

I would have been so awestruck I'd probably not even remembered to take a photo!! What a sight, I love the full view of just how many birds are there, wonderful sight!

Hi Evelynn!

I really had a choice of eagle shots when vising your gallery after a bit of time, and although the close ones look wonderful too I somehow like this one even more for it being so special to see. I see weather is not better then here but you brought out the best of it I think. A bg like this is just as unique as the sight itself with the eagles in such a big number. TFS!!

Best regards,
Andor

I have to note this adress and period. I knew of a place in alaska but not this one!
If you have time tell me more
regards
Patrick
