hello friends, the American Robin is one of
my favorite birds, and this photo is one of
my favorite ones of my in-flight series

photo shot with my Fujifilm bridge
camera in JPEG, ISO400, no RAW and
Flash like my other in-flight photos

from the Hinterland Who's Who website :

http://www.hww.ca/hww2.asp?id=25

« The male may visit the area where the nest
will be located before the nest is built, and he
may bring nesting material to his mate, but the
female chooses the nest site and builds the nest.
Although robins prefer to nest about 3 m above
ground in spruce and maple trees, they readily adapt
to a wide range of vegetation and built structures.
They will even nest on the ground. Robins also reuse
nests from the previous year, either their own or those
of other species such as the Eastern Phoebe,
the Catbird, the Common Grackle, and the
Baltimore Oriole. Sometimes they build a new nest
on top of an old one, which may have yet another nest
under it, and lay the eggs in the new nest at the top. »

Merci

Asbed

Hi Asbed,
way to go with this capture as it is something I keep trying to get,a robin in flight but so far for me that has yet to happen.I like the rich colour this photo has and the reflections of the bird and trees in the water, nice details indeed. The robin even though it looks small in the overall picture has the eye drawn to it and the sharp detail makes no mistake as to what kind of bird it is.Thanks for sharing this in flight shot of the robin. Bob

Hello Asbed,
Very beautiful in flight photo of this American Robin. The reflections of the bird and trees are very nice. Great contrasts. Well detailed and a good composition.

Another wonderful flight capture of the Celtick Ranger. :) Lighting is superb as it refects off the robin's body and the water. Not only did you get a marvelous shot of the robin in flight but over a spectacular waterscape as well. Congratulations!

Larry

Hi Asbed,

You're making me envious again with this American Robin. Going to plan a trip to Colorado when I can climb stairs again so hopefully I will see them again. Great in-flight shot - amazing how clear the eye, red breast and wings are. Beautiful colors and a wonderful reflection.

Jane

Bonjour Asbed,

Les réflexions dans l'eau sont des atouts à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de ce merle d'Amérique en vol. Le sujet est bien cadré. La bonne luminosité rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Pierre

Still retinas teh unusual but nice quality for the Fuji...it is definitely an environmental shot..and teh reflection is icing on the cake!
