really black tern nesting . Very sharp view of the nest and its surroundings.
Exciting shot in good colors and details.
Wow Asbed that new series of birds here is quite impressive my friend. This one for example is very well executed. Great brightness, colors and stunning depth of field. Just looks like taken with DSLR! Bravo! Professionally executed indeed!
P.S. Please go to the store and ask for the old but brilliant 1000D/Rebel XS from Canon. Let me tell you, that baby DSLR is incredible little machine. It is the oldest survival in the Canon entry level DSLR's and it is based on the 400D platform. Sure, there are much more equipped with features new DSLR's but that Canon is probably the perfect entry level DSLR ever build for its price. Other cameras that I can highly recommend are Sony Alpha A200,Olympus E410, Nikon D3000, Canon 450D. In general terms all those cameras will perform similarly, and even when compared with mid-range cameras of the APS-C standard. I rather spend more cash on a proper glass(lens)as a starting point friend Asbed. Well the G10 or G2 are truly brilliant but they are more expensive and when you attache a long lens to one of them you can not ever hide them in your pocket any more. So, my advice is ... go for DSLR!

Very nice black Tern image, it must be nesting. I have only seen these bird once in Alberta, at a lake last summer. Good notes. The All about birds website is a good one. I posted it along with one of my pictures a while ago but didn't turn out like yours.

L'oiseau est bien placé dans le cadrage. La prise de vue permet de distinguer les détails et les couleurs de la guifette noire dans son environnement. La qualité de la lumière met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

How did I miss this one?
A superb capture of the Black tern on its nest in a great well-composed combination of habitat and close sharp details of the main subject. The POV, lighting and colours are excellent too.
This species is rare in my country but a few pair nest near us, though I have never seen the nest.
Thanks and kind regards,
