[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is a Canadian Goose. We get large flocks of them all along our beaches and lakes thru the late spring and into summer. They are native to North America. mostly found in Canada and the northern states.
They have a life span of up to 24 years, most finding a mate in their 2nd year. These geese mate for life, only finding a new spouse if their first has died. The female lays 3-8eggs with and incubation period of 24-28 days.
These geese used to be a migratory species. But in recent years have inter bred with a non migratory sub species. So in some areas they are year round residents. |
