The Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is a milkweed butterfly (subfamily Danainae), in the family Nymphalidae. It is perhaps the best known of all North American butterflies. Since the 19th century, it has been found in New Zealand, and in Australia since 1871 where it is called the Wanderer.
The Monarch is famous for its southward migration and northward return in summer from Canada to Mexico and Baja California which spans the life of three to four generations of the butterfly.

Witaj Dan,
Greet Marco,
Your butterflies are amazing. Finished up ( I like this). Beautiful frame, colours and blurred background.

It looks like it contains every colour known to man:-) Excellent in that regard, this may or may not take away from the subject but it shows it in its natural setting which is the most important of all... it is almost psychedelic!

A razor-sharp capture from a lovely Monarch butterfly with great details, Dan!

The sharpness and POV are excellent, and the positioning of the subject within a double-lined frame is well thought.
The colors are natural and light is well handled.
Nice job!

Greetings,
Paras

Hello Dan,
great capture of this beautiful butterfly with good sharpness and a well chosen POV. I especially like the wonderful colours the lovely pose on the flower and the nicely blurred backgropund.
Best wishes,
Helmut

Hi Dan,

Magical composition of this Monarch beauty, they are not as common a find in NB. Love the green bokeh as a backdrop for the kaleidoscope of color that comprises the insect & flora Tack sharp focus too, a real pleasure for the eyes.

Regards,

Derek
