From its size it looks like a MALE.
In Ontario, am assuming you live in Ontario or Quebec, this species abounds.
In Alberta we do have them; but, not in such abundance.
Here is one I registered many, many moons ago. This one, because of its size, appears to be a FEMALE.
Best regards from Mario.

This bird it is the Canada Goose, nice photo with fine POV and DOF,
with your Canon EOS 7D you could easily shoot at higher ISO than ISO200
in difficult light situation like on this photo, I am sure higher ISO like ISO800
in that difficult light situation would help you to obtain a better photo,
also what could you help for a better photo is doing the focus on the
bird's head and eye for obtaining better sharpness, because here on
your photo it is the snow that is more sharp than the bird's head, TFS

From the looks of this Canada goose it appears to be quite healthy. It is plump and in good shape and I assume eager for spring to get into full swing.
We have many of these geese here in Ohio which have actually become a bit of a nuisance. Many don't migrate south like they used to years ago. They now frequent our parks and neighborhoods year round eating much of the green grasses. They are eating machines while deficating everywhere they go.

This is not a duck but a Canada Goose.
I fully agree with the recommendations of Asbed (CelticRanger) about the technical aspects of the photo.
It eats lots of grasses and produces a lot of shit. Therefore they are a pest for the farmers here in Holland.
