Rock Wren
Salpinctes obsoletus

The Rock Wren blends in perfectly with the rock at Writing On Stone.
I heard him before I saw him.

A tiny bird which grows up to 15 cm. Their wingspan is up to 23 cm, and weigh up to 18 g.

The Rock Wren occasionally builds a walkway of small flat stone that lead to its nest.

They do not drink water but seem to get all they need from the food they eat which are insects.

A remarkable singer, they have a repertoire of more than 100 songs.

A difficult shot since the sun had set and I didn't use a tripod.
