« Nesting Woodcock She will protect her eggs from the snow ».

Hello friends, you can see it in my previous photo. On March 30,
with Bobcat Celtick my pointing dog (Griffon Korthals) we found
an American Woodcock nesting.

Yesterday late in the afternoon it started to snow,
I said I want to go see this woodcock nesting covered
with snow and shoot photos.

But when I arrived at this place I was worried because I
could not find the woodcock, it is after several minutes
of searching by staying in one place for not causing
its flight that I could finally find her beautiful head. :)

1/320s f/5.6 ISO1000 85mm (35mm eq:127mm).

Photo taken the : 2016:04:06
at : 18:20:27 under a light snow.

In the next days or week I will go to watch her again.

Merci.

Asbed

Hello Asbed,
What a impressive looking photo of this little mother Woodcock protecting her eggs from the elements. I have never seen this before, it is quite unique and educational. The average person would pass on by never knowing it was even there. I love it!!!
Ron

This unusual picture of a mother bird buried in snow in an effort to protect its eggs speaks volumes about the drastic changes in the earth's climate, Asbed. It is frightening to some extent.
Is the nest on the ground? The barren branches around the bird suggest it is a thicket/bush.
Your picture is highly valuable as a document.

Hello Asbed,
Excellent photo of this woodcock covered with snow. Very special to find such a small detail in these snow conditions. Beautiful natural colors and good sharpness.
Enjoy the weekend,
Peter

Hi Asbed,
well hidden, indeed - and amazingly well detected.
A pleasure to watch the scene with you. Thank you!
With best regards,
Peter

Bonjour Asbed,

Les branches et la neige cadrent bien l'oiseau. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la tête de la Bécasse d'Amérique. La bonne luminosité fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Pierre
