The Maple Leaf

Well before the coming of the first European settlers, Canada's aboriginal peoples had discovered the food properties of maple sap, which they gathered every spring. According to many historians, the maple leaf began to serve as a Canadian symbol as early as 1700.
In 1834, the first St. Jean Baptiste Society in North America made the maple leaf its emblem.

In 1836, Le Canadien, a newspaper published in Lower Canada, referred to it as a suitable emblem for Canada.

Hello Luc!

What a wonderful and richly colored capture of this wild maple leaf cluster! :-D

I like the symbolic gesture of these autumn leaves covering the last vestiges of summer's green grass, in bottom RH corner.

A beautiful composition and concept.

Great job, I thank you.

A lovely tribute to your home country, Luc! Your fall color is far ahead of ours so I'm enjoying this view into our future...we're mid 70s and sunny right now.

Lovely colour and presentation...
Well done...

Hey Luc! What a lovely golden scene to visit now that I'm back! A lovely composition of these beautiful golden maple leaves, all dressed for fall. The framing are perfect and you show great texture in the leaves. Well done...
Maple Syrup is quite expensive to buy in NZ.
I hope you have had a good week so far. We had a great time away, and I saw acres and acres of native bush and amazing stunning greenery.

Yeah Luc, symbol of Canada in beautifull colours. Very autumnal picture, nice collage of shapes and colours. Maple leaves are probably most beautifull in autumn time, also in Poland. Great work MF!

Excellent composition Luc and very nicely exposed.

Hi Luc,
Beautiful color and sharp detail. Makes me want to stand up and sing Oh Canada!

A very nice image Luc,
The best colours are there to catch at this time of year.
Nice composition, detail and sharpness.
Thanks for posting, enjoy the rest of the week.

Wonderful blend of fall color Luc. Well done & Thank You my friend.

Nice capture. - Inovative and patriotic, MF.

Arm still a bit sore so I am keeping the comments short.
